PORTHMADOG'S championship-winning side of 2002/03 must rank as one of the best in the league's history.

The Traeth outfit went 29 matches undefeated before suffering two end-of-season defeats with the title already in the bag.

 With the impressive Gerard McGuigan in goal and the experience of Mike Foster, Lee  Webber and Campbell Harrison at the back, Port had the solidity in defence all table-topping teams need.
Top scorer Carl Owen, Steve Pugh, David Farr and Dafydd Evans provided the bulk of the goals, while Gareth Parry and Gareth Caughter were among those to shine in midfield. Port set the record for winning the Cymru Alliance by the biggest margin - 19 points - in this season, a feat matched by Airbus 12 months later
