EARDLEY

Caernarfon Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Sean Eardley is joining the Canaries as assistant manager to Iwan Williams. Sean joins us from Welsh Premier League outfit Llandudno, where he was assistant to Alan Morgan.

Town manager Iwan Williams has first-hand knowledge of Sean’s strengths and knows exactly what the highly respected figure in the Welsh Pyramid System will bring to the club:

“Sean has a wealth of knowledge and pedigree in the game. He started out at Oldham Athletic and progressing through the Welsh Youth ranks where he was destined to become professional footballer, and a successful one at that. Health issues hampered his progress and, having played against Sean on numerous occasions, it was whilst playing for Llandudno that we began to become really good friends. He was captain of the side and someone that every player highly respected.

Sean then moved out to play in Australia and whilst there his medical problems took its toll, and this  resulted in him having to prematurely end his playing career. Sean never dwelled on his this and instead decided to dedicate all of the experiences he gained whilst playing the game into coaching. That alone epitomises the character he is and the mental strength he has.

We spent a year travelling together, learning and enhancing our knowledge on the A Licence in Dragon Park and although I rated Sean highly as a player, I have to admit that his coaching talents are on another level. His attention to detail coupled with his enthusiasm and assertiveness is breath taking. He’s the type of coach that earns the players’ respect from the on-set.

I'm glad we were able to come to an agreement, and I'm delighted at having the chance to bring Sean on board. I’ve spoken to the squad about the lessons we need to learn from last season’s league campaign and the attitude we have to adopt in pre-season in order to mount a serious challenge, and bringing Sean in will help me drive that attitude. Sean comes in as my Assistant Manager and will work alongside the already strong management team we have at the club.”
