Conwy Borough have announced the appointment of Gareth Thomas as first team manager

Thomas, also commonly known as “Perry”, is an experienced manager who previously managed Denbigh Town, taking them to third place in the Huws Gray Alliance during the 2015/16 season along with reaching the Word Cup final. He has previously managed Halkyn United, Mynydd Isa, Buckley Town and FC Nomads of Connah's Quay.

Thomas said following his appointment: "I am delighted to join the club after accepting the managers position. After meeting the board early in the week the challenge to get Conwy Borough back into the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance is one I couldn’t turn down.”

"The club is ambitious and, after a poor season which resulted in relegation, they have set out the long term plans, and its a challenge I’m looking forward to.”

Darren Cartwright, Vice-Chairman: "We are delighted to of secured the services of an experienced and successful manager in Gareth Thomas. He has the know how of the leagues and players that we feel we need. Obviously last season was a disaster "on the field" for the club and it was incredibly hard to take, but that is in the past now, we move on and everyone at the club is looking forward to the tough challenge ahead in getting the club back to where it belongs in a new league and supporting the new manager and the team as best we can."
