HOW MANY SEASONS PLAYED IN THE HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE

17 Seasons Huws Gray (3 Seasons Welsh Premier league)

BEST HUWS GRAY TEAM PLAYED FOR

“I’ve played in some good teams with different qualities at various stages of my career, but as the league has continued to get stronger then it would have to be the Caernarfon double winning side from 2015-2016. Great achievement for the club after only being back in the league for a few seasons.”

BEST HUWS GRAY CLUB PLAYED AGAINST AND WHY

“There have been a few over the years but on a regular basis it would be Guilsfield, always a tough place to go and they always have a good team ethic and work rate”.

BEST PLAYER PLAYED WITH

“I will split this into 4 categories as it’s too difficult to answer as an individual question.

Goalkeeper

  • Paul Pritch (Carl Pilkington) - Great shot stopper, kicking was awful!

Defender

  • Warren Gibbs - didn’t run much but didn’t have to. ½ mile wide either side.
  • Gaz Edwards - unorthodox, but effective

Midfield

  • Kev Robs & Aidy Glo - Both poor on the ball but work rate shone through

Forward

  • Daz Bach - magic on his day. Plays better after a night out.”

MOST DIFFICULT OPPONENT

“The players below always seemed to score against me/my teams:

  • Shaun Beck, Flint - Always a hand full, difficult to mark
  • Neil Mitchel, Caersws - Very good in the air and quick”

BEST MANAGER

“Iwan Williams - If I don’t say this he will sulk for ever! Seriously though he has taken the club to the next level, the amount of work that he puts in behind the scenes is a credit to him. He doesn’t stop posting things on what’s App though about his pre-season running, as a player he’s more finished than me!!”

LOUDEST MANAGER

“Bri Boded - Some of the rants he came out with over the years were classics”.

OPINION OF THE HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE

“Strongest it’s ever been over the last 2-3 years, much more professionalism in the league now compared to when I started out”.

BEST MEMORY IN THE HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE

“There have been loads, most of them were on nights out or the bus journey home. Darren Thomas after two pints, singing, Irish accents and telling everybody he is the best player on the planet!! Priceless!!

On a playing perspective it would be the 7-0 demolition of Cefn Druids at their ground to clinch the league title. The celebration at the pub with the fans and flares afterwards were top notch”.

WORST MEMORY IN THE HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE

“Finding out that we had failed the Domestic License and that we wouldn’t be promoted. I was disappointed for the players and the fans, they both deserved a shot at the Welsh Premier League after all the work that had been put in”.

BEST GOAL (including og’s) YOU SCORED IN THE HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE

“OG against Prestatyn, Paul Pritchard was usually stuck on his goal line so should have been there, I blame him to this day!”

BEST HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE GROUND ANY WHY

“Caernarfon Town – Amazing support, it makes a big difference when playing in front of a decent crowd”. “Porthmadog - Playing surface is top notch”.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD

“On a personal note, I would like to thank my family for all the support over the years, especially my Dad who used to taxi me all around the country when I was a junior.

A massive thank you to all the players, managers, coaches, committee members, referees (really!) and fans that I’ve met over the years. It’s been a pleasure to have played in the league for so long.

Hopefully this is the season that Caernarfon makes it to the Welsh Premier league, the club deserves to be there and the Welsh Premier League needs a club like Caernarfon in it

The league would like to thank Ossie for taking the time to answer the questions and for his outstanding services to the league, he will be remembered as one of the most consistent performer’s in the history of the league. We wish him all the best for the future which will hopefully include football in some capacity
