RUTHIN TOWN

Ruthin Town manager Chris Williams gives his thoughts on next season

OPINION OF YOUR CLUBS PERFORMANCE LAST SEASON

“I was very pleased how we finished the season with a lot of important wins in high pressure games. There is still a lot we can try and improve on”

AMBITIONS FOR NEXT SEASON

“Our aim is to re-establish ourselves as a Cymru Alliance club. We will be aiming to finish higher than last season and I’m confident that we can do this, particularly as the squad has improved.  We are certainly looking to do better in cup competitions”

NEW PLAYERS

“I’m delighted with lads we have brought in. It’s difficult without a budget and to bring lads in of the quality we have is great! I’ve been able to strengthen at the back and I now have more regular options up front. In my view what is equally important is that we have retained all the lads from last season. This gives us a certain stability to build on and everyone has a little more Cymru Alliance experience”.

GROUND YOU LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING AND WHY

“We will be looking forward to going to both Rhyl and Caernarfon, especially if we can play under the lights, these are big clubs with big traditions. It will also be interesting going to different grounds like Llandudno Junction, a ground hardly any of us will have played before”

PLAYERS YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING AND WHY

“What I’m really looking forward to is seeing my lads play again, pitting their abilities against all the top sides in the league, expressing themselves and having another real go at it!”

WHO DO YOU SEE AS IN CONTENTION FOR THE LEAGUE TITLE

“Caernarfon will be knocking on the door once again. They know what it takes and they will be my favourites for this year. Failing that Airbus will also be pushing for the top spot.!

HOW COMPETITIVE DO YOU THINK THE LEAGUE WILL BE NEXT SEASON

“With Airbus and Rhyl dropping down, and the quality that’s already in the league, this is going to be one of the most competitive leagues I have been involved in. There are some big clubs with some good players. Every game will throw up a different challenge and personally I can't wait”.

TEAM WHO COULD SURPRISE A FEW

“Holywell and Holyhead have added quality to their squads so they could surprise a few. We have Holyhead as our first game so we’ll see how good they are then. I’m expecting a very tough game.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

“The front 3 at Caernarfon will be difficult to handle again, Airbus have signed some big names as have Caersws! Holywell and Holyhead have both signed well and I am keen to see how John Littlemore does after returning from Cardiff Met !”

OPINION OF THE LEAGUE

“I think the league is as hard as it has ever been, with Rhyl and Airbus coming down it really does make it an extremely competitive league! I can see the standard being extremely high”
