RHYL

Rhyl manager Niall McGuinness looking to put last season behind him

OPINION OF YOUR CLUBS PERFORMANCE LAST SEASON:

Last season was very up & down with some really positive and exciting moments mixed with some disappointing moments as well. I felt as a club who began rebuilding last season we have gained an awful lot from last season it was obviously gutting to be relegated but people who know football will understand what I mean when I say this & sometime it's right to take a step back to come back stronger.

AMBITIONS FOR NEXT SEASON

Ambitions will always be to compete for the league a club of this size is expected to do that and that will be our sole aim I would also like a good couple of cups runs including the Welsh Cup as it still upsets me what happened last season to us.

NEW PLAYERS

We have recruited a number of players during the summer that I believe will fit the mould of our style of play and have the right ingredients for the Huws Gray Alliance. Hopefully this will show as the season begins

GROUND YOU LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING

Would have to say Porthmadog I am yet to manage their and it's a lovely set up always remember being a fan as a little boy behind the goal as well the year we won the Welsh Premier League there on the last day of the season so that would bring back hopefully some nice memories.

PLAYERS YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING AND WHY

Some very good players in this league and whilst the quality of players in the league goes from strength to strength my main focus will be on the players playing for Rhyl in the first instance.

WHO DO YOU SEE AS IN CONTENTION FOR THE LEAGUE TITLE

Difficult to say as there are a number of good teams within the league and I don't really want to look past each week so wouldn't want to state this however I do believe we will be.

Overall it’s going to be very competitive, there are going to be no easy games and players will need to be at their sharpest week in week out.

TEAMS WHO COULD SURPRISE A FEW

Again hard to say I think anyone can cause an upset on their day it's all about who's at it the most when it comes to match day.

OPINION OF THE LEAGUE

Excited to get going it's a different type of challenge for me as a manager the structure of it is very well organised and professional and I love that it's a 15 team league with home & away ties makes a massive difference from last season having to play the same club 5 times including cup which became a bit repetitive and predictable
