HOLYWELL

Holywell Town's manager John Haseldin took time out from preson to give his views of the coming season

OPINION OF YOUR CLUBS PERFORMANCE LAST SEASON
The league is getting harder every year and we won’t underestimate that. We've done well to continue to push on with back to back top five finishes out of our two seasons at this level and we want to keep improving. That's the challenge and we'll use it as motivation.

AMBITIONS FOR NEXT SEASON
I feel the squad has got stronger every year and we have strengthened the spine of the team this year, also some important players that we picked up during last season were without a preseason so they are fitter and stronger and will be like new signings.

The fact that we had a bad run in the middle of the season will also help us to make sure that doesn't happen again. We are focused and all up for the challenge.

NEW PLAYERS
Shaun Pearson (Airbus) Joe Griffith (Square Gates) Danny Desormeaux (Chester Nomads) Darren Gowans (Glantraeth) Ste Lewis (Rhyl) Sam Jones

GROUND YOU LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING AND WHY
We are away at Denbigh our first game so that's the one we are all looking forward to the most at the moment.

I'm also looking forward to going to the new grounds, obviously the 2 The league is the strongest it’s been and you have to respect that, it’s going to be ultra-competitivewo clubs that have come down are local to us and I know our supporters will relish getting behind us for those games

PLAYERS YOU LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING AND WHY
Shaun Tuck he's been on fire preseason, he hadn't had a preseason for a couple of years and we didn’t sign him till end of September so he was always chasing his fitness but he's worked as hard as anyone during the summer to get himself fit and we have been seeing the benefits. I'm looking forward to seeing him carry his form into the new season

WHO DO YOU SEE AS IN CONTENTION FOR THE LEAGUE TITLE
Airbus, Rhyl, Caernarfon, Flint will all have high hopes but it will be whoever starts well and takes the opportunities when they arise. Also with big budgets comes big expectations and it will be interesting to see which teams can handle the pressure.

I thought Prestatyn showed last year it’s not just about having a good team it was unity and team spirit that powered them through for the title.

HOW COMPETITIVE DO YOU THINK THE LEAGUE WILL BE NEXT SEASON
It’s going to be ultra-competitive.

TEAM WHO COULD SURPRISE A FEW
Think teams going to Ruthin, FC Queen Park, Junction, Penrhyncoch thinking they'll be guaranteed 3 points will be in for a shock. Every game you have to make sure you’re at your best otherwise you'll end up with nothing it’s as simple as that.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
Brady Mcgilloway (Holywell Town), Craig Pritchard (Denbigh Town), Sion Bradley (Porthmadog) I think are 3 of the best young players in the league and could potentially all have excellent seasons.

OPINION OF THE LEAGUE
The league is the strongest it’s been and you have to respect that

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ANY CHANGES
I would have liked to have seen a team replace Rhayader to make the league to sixteen.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD
Unrealistic I know but I'd like to see a second promotion place via a playoff system would make things even more exciting at the end of the season
