FAW Tier two league formed in 1990


League leaders Airbus Broughton were a goal to the good through Leo Riley ay half time in their home game with Gresford Athletic and went of to fire four more in the second half through an Asa Hamilton hattrick and one from Lewis Buckley. To add to Gresford’s misery they had a late penalty saved by Dave Roberts

In the game of the day at Porthmadog visitor Rhyl took the lead after five minutes with Mike Pritchard on target. Max Peated added a second for Rhyl ten minutes into the second half. A Gruff Williams goal put Porth back in the game but Rhyl had the last word as Gareth Partridge netted their third nine minutes from time

In Prestatyn Town’s game with Buckley Town it was ten aside after thirty minutes. Nathan Hume seeing the first red as he conceded a penalty which Scott Williams in the Prestatyn goal saved. Josh Jones of Buckley then followed him with the second red card of the game, Adam Eden gave Buckley the half time advantage two minutes before the break and they added three more in the second half through Shaun Tinsley, Eden and Ryan Jones and in a day of penalty misses both said failed to score with spot kicks

Last season player of the season Llyr Morris opened the scoring for Ruthin Town at home to Guilsfield in the thirty second minute and added a second in the second half before Ruthin’s Ilan Hughes failed to convert a penalty to add to their score

Holywell Town got their first win of the season at home to Llanrhaeadr YM. After a goalless first half two goals in two minutes, one from a penalty put Town in control. Iwan Matthews reduced the deficit with another penalty but Holywell held on for the points.

A Liam Lewis goal six minutes into the second half was enough to give Penrhyncoch the points against visitors Flint Town United

On Friday evening Holyhead Hotspur took an eleventh minute lead through Luke McGiven, a lead they held until the fifty ninth minute when Alex Darlington levelled for Bangor. Bangor then had the chance to seal the three points but Tom Field saw his penalty saved by Carl Jones in the Hotspur goal

Conwy Bourgh led two nil at the break against visitors Denbigh Town thanks to a Corrig McGonigle double, one from the penalty spot. Borough added two more in the second half through Tommy Cramer and a Bailey Jackson own goal with Jacob Walker scoring a consolation for Denbigh
