Ruthin Town

Ryan Goldston (Goalkeeper) (19) – An excellent young goalkeeper and another who started as a 11 year old with Ruthin. He was with Bala academy and has spent time with Shrewsbury Town. A shot stopper with good hands who is outstanding with his feet. He was on the bench with Bala as they won the Welsh cup two years ago. He has a great deal of experience for such a young man.

Mathew Evans (21) – Has returned this season having been at Cardiff University. He started with Ruthin as a 11 year old and showed great promise even then. A reliable defender who is one of our quickest players. He keeps the ball well and has two good feet.  He can play at full back or centre back and is a great addition to our squad this season.

Dafydd Evans (19) – Another who has come through the ranks at Ruthin. A past Bala academy player Dafydd had a brief spell at Llandyrnog before returning to Ruthin. Another good full back with a lot of pace who likes to go forward to link up with attacking players.

Craig Wilkinson (Full back and assistant manager) (35) – Joined Ruthin as a 11 year old in 1994 and went on to join Cefn Druids at 16 and then Preston North End. A very good player with two good feet and exceptional close control who can get his fair share of goals. He has plenty of experience and can play at full back or  midfield.

Tom Roberts (Full Back) (27) – As a youngster he started at Ruthin before moving on to Manchester United then more recently played at Telford , Rhyl and he won the Welsh premier league with TNS. Extremely skilful left sided player who can play at full back or midfield.

Isaac Rasell-Edwards (Full Back) (18) – Came up from the under 16’s two seasons ago and has made a great impression. A quick full back with excellent distribution and a good touch. He’s fulfilling the promise he showed at youth level.

Matthew Williams (Full Back) (19) – Started with Ruthin Town Youth before joining Shrewsbury Town as a youngster. A reliable full back with good close control and distribution. He can also play at centre back and midfield.

Kevin Evans (Centre Back) (36) – A cultured midfield player who has converted to centre back. Reads the game well, is comfortable on the ball with excellent distribution. One of the best players to play for Ruthin in recent years.

Garmon Hafal (Centre Back) (28) - Another product of our youth system Garmon has developed into a top class player with pace and power. He can play at centre back or anywhere on the left. An experienced player who has played in the Mid Wales, Wrexham Area and North Wales Coast leagues as well as being a seasoned Huws Gray Alliance campaigner.

Chris Williams (Player Manager) (34) – Another midfield player who has converted to centre back, reads the game well, two footed and a good tackler, a leader on and off the field and an excellent player. Joined the club as a 11 year old and has a great deal of experience having played for many clubs in the Vale of Clwyd and beyond.   

Osian Davies (Midfield) (23) – A really good midfielder and another who has come through the youth system. Plays with maturity, two feet, strong in the tackle and a good engine. He’s a big influence on the team.

Ilan Hughes (Midfield) (25) – Club captain and a popular figure within the club. Mature for his years Ilan is an excellent midfeld player with a good touch and a wide range of passing. He dictates the pace of our game.

Gwion Owen (Midfield) (23) – Gwion is a highly skilfull player who can take people on. Another who can chip in with goals whilst making them for others. He had an excellent year last year and was voted players player of the year.

Gwydion Ifan (Midfield) (27) - Another good player who came through our youth system. He played for the first team at 16 before moving on to pastures new. Ten years or so later he’s a better and more experienced player and has returned. He will make a big impression on the HGA this year.

Rhys Rowlands (Midfield) (17) A midfield player with huge promise. He had a good season for our reserves last year and did well during his first team appearances. An attack minded midfield player with two good feet and an eye for goal.

Lewys Turner (Midfield) (18) Another young lad with huge promise. Joined us from Llanuwchlyn this season. He’s only 18 but he’s a big strong lad with plenty of talent. Likes to play in midfield and can play either in a defensive or attacking role a strong tackler with two good feet. A player with a bright future.

Llyr Morris (Striker) (22) - Joined Ruthin as a 11 year old in 2007 and was a great prospect even then. He has since developed into an excellent striker. With good close control he can take people on and shoot with both feet. He keeps defenders on their toes and links well with other players. He is now a really effective striker and was the HGA top scorer last season.

Ryan Jones (Striker) (22) – Ryan is an out and out goal scorer. A youth player at Ruthin and he’s been scoring goals ever since. He’s been at Bala and did well at Corwen for a number of years before joining us for his first senior season at Ruthin. He’s highly rated and in all fairness he gives us more than goals and is a massive asset.

Will Owen (Striker) (19) – A great prospect and another who came up from the u16’s two years ago. A Bala Town academy player who is strong, fast and with a great shot for such a young man. He is developing into a fine player who can play up front or in midfield.

Tom Williams (Striker) (24) - Tom is another top rated striker who gives us great options up front. From Corwen he signed for Queens Park last year and so has HGA experience. He is highly rated locally and he has already demonstrated his ability.

Tom Watkin Jones (Striker) (18) – A striker with lighting pace that can scare any defence. Has joined us form Bala and is a young lad with massive potential. He’s another that gives us some great competition for places up front and he’ll get more than his fair share of goals.
